FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What types of FEA / ABAQUS modelling do you offer?
GeoMonix develops 2D and 3D finite-element models in ABAQUS for geotechnical and structural applications, including soil-structure interaction, pavement systems, buried infrastructure, foundation analysis and slope stability. Each model includes calibration against available data, sensitivity analysis and a clear technical report.
Do you work with clients outside the UK?
Yes. All consulting services are available worldwide via online delivery. For infrastructure assessment and in-person site work, GeoMonix is based in Birmingham, UK, and can travel within the UK as needed.
What is fibre-optic sensing and when should I use it?
Distributed fibre-optic sensing (DFOS) uses light pulses in optical fibres to measure strain, temperature or vibration continuously along the entire length of the fibre. It is ideal for monitoring large infrastructure assets such as tunnels, pipelines, embankments and bridges, where traditional point sensors would miss critical behaviour between measurement locations.
How long does a typical FEA consulting project take?
Timelines depend on model complexity. Most projects follow a pattern: 1 to 2 weeks for scoping and data review, 2 to 4 weeks for model development and calibration, and 1 to 2 weeks for reporting. A simple 2D model might be delivered in 3 weeks; a complex 3D model with multiple load cases could take 2 to 3 months. GeoMonix always confirms timelines before starting.
How do I get a quote for consulting work?
Send a message using the form above, or email info@geomonix.com with a short description of your project. Every brief is personally reviewed, with a tailored proposal sent within one working day.
